The cold, clear water rushes eagerly through his gleaming fur as he sets a mighty paw onto the mossy pebbles. After hours of struggling, he hoists himself up onto the very top of the Falls, looking over the vast landscape beneath him. This will always be my home,he thinks to himself, raising his broad head proudly. As he moves, the sun glances off his deep emerald eyes, reflecting his years of distress and agony. Through his eyes, he sees the blood of his newborn cub, as crimson as the blood of his mate as she falls to the ground. He hears the sound of a gun, loud and piercing, then silence. Slowly, he lowers himself into the water, his muzzle resting on his folded paws. He gently closes his eyes and lets out his final breath.
He is the last of his kind.
